Short answer
You do not need to find an axe item first. Play the Chant of the Woodcutters, then click a dead tree in your farm. The spell provides the axe.
That is Eastshade Studios’ answer to a Demo player searching for the tool. Wording about enchanting an axe can sound like an inventory requirement; the developer’s instructions do not require one. Read the developer’s reply.
Chop a dead tree
- Have the Chant of the Woodcutters available.This guide starts at that point; the source does not explain where or when you obtain the song.
- Cast it in your farm and select a dead tree.The developer specifies this target. Living trees elsewhere are outside the confirmed instructions.
- Confirm after selecting your target.In a separate reply about tilling and chopping, the developer explains that casting enters a targeting mode: select commands, then confirm them.
The expected result is a summoned axe carrying out the chopping action, rather than an axe you first collect from the world.
If nothing happens
Check the target before confirming. Confirming immediately after casting can submit an empty queue. Our casting and tilling guide explains this step and the dated controller instructions.
If the song is unavailable, or selecting a dead farm tree still fails, these replies do not establish a fix. No song-unlock route or controller input was independently tested here.
